Luis Camargo is the Founder and Director of OpEPA (Organization for Environmental Education and Protection), an award-winning Colombian organization focused on reconnecting children and youth to nature so they can act in a more environmentally responsible manner. Speaker and writer on nature based education, biodiversity and climate change. Luis has been recognized among others, as an Ashoka Fellow, Young Global Leader (2008) and Climate Reality Leader.
Adventurer, environmental activist and educator for over 30 years, Luis works with students, teachers and ecotourism guides in order to find mechanisms that strengthen a sense of place and break the climate despair cycles by building empathy for nature and reconstructing relationships with that acknowledge interdependence and interrelations within the planet.
